Willow – Balwyn

The façade is defined by symmetry and proportion, articulated through rendered masonry, a mansard roof and classical detailing. Openings are carefully aligned, with balconies, columns and ironwork contributing to a composed and ordered frontage. Ornamentation is controlled, allowing proportion and materiality to establish the architectural expression.

Internally, the home is organised around a sequence of formal and informal living spaces. Traditional rooms are positioned to the front, defined by detailed joinery, fireplaces and layered finishes. These spaces reinforce a structured and symmetrical planning approach.

At the centre, the kitchen and living domain forms the primary gathering space. Stone surfaces, classical cabinetry and integrated appliances establish a refined and cohesive material language. Large openings extend this space to the rear, connecting directly to the pool, terrace and outdoor living areas.

Material continuity is maintained throughout. Timber flooring laid in a herringbone pattern, natural stone and soft plaster finishes are applied with consistency, reinforcing a controlled and resolved interior palette.

Vertical circulation is expressed through a central stair, integrated within the planning and contributing to the overall sense of formality and structure. Upstairs, the arrangement separates private zones, with bedrooms and retreat spaces organised around a clear central hall.

Externally, the rear elevation shifts toward a more open and relaxed expression. Covered outdoor areas and the pool are aligned with the internal living spaces, maintaining a strong connection between interior and landscape.

The result is a carefully resolved residence grounded in tradition, defined by clarity, proportion and material consistency.
