Quoin – Hawthorn East

The façade is organised through a strong corner presence, with rendered masonry, expressed quoins and vertically proportioned openings establishing a formal and ordered expression. Detailing is applied with restraint, allowing alignment, rhythm and material clarity to define the architectural language.

Internally, the plan is structured around a sequence of formal living spaces to the front of the home. Coffered ceilings, detailed joinery and traditional fireplaces reinforce a sense of symmetry and proportion, establishing a composed interior character.

The central living areas transition to a more open configuration. Increased ceiling heights and large-format openings introduce natural light and connect the interior to the outdoor environment. The kitchen is resolved through stone surfaces and classical cabinetry, forming a refined and functional core to the home.

Material consistency is maintained throughout, with timber flooring, stone finishes and soft plaster surfaces applied with control. Decorative elements are considered and restrained, allowing craftsmanship and material quality to lead.

A sculptural stair introduces a moment of vertical movement within the plan, reinforcing the home’s formal structure while connecting upper-level accommodation. Bedrooms and retreat spaces are arranged with clarity, maintaining a consistent planning rhythm.

To the rear, the home opens to a landscaped garden, pool and covered outdoor living area. Framed openings and structured thresholds extend the internal living spaces outward, creating a cohesive relationship between architecture and landscape.

The result is a resolved residence grounded in classical tradition, defined by proportion, material consistency and disciplined execution.
