A thoughtful transformation of a traditional Edwardian residence, Edwardian Middle Park balances the character of the original home with a carefully resolved contemporary extension designed for modern family living.

The existing façade and principal rooms were restored and refined, preserving period features including decorative detailing, original fireplaces and generous ceiling heights. These elements provide a strong architectural foundation while maintaining the home's connection to the surrounding Middle Park streetscape.

Beyond the heritage envelope, the home transitions to a light-filled contemporary addition. Designed to maximise natural light and functionality, the extension introduces expansive open-plan living, dining and kitchen spaces that connect seamlessly to the private rear garden.

Internally, the planning reimagines the home for contemporary family life. A series of traditionally proportioned front rooms give way to a generous living domain where skylights, wide oak flooring and large-format glazing create a sense of openness and connection throughout the home.

Stone surfaces, oak flooring and custom joinery create a warm and cohesive palette throughout the home. The material selection helps bridge the transition between the original Edwardian residence and the contemporary addition while allowing each element to retain its own identity.

Natural light was a key driver of the design, with skylights and carefully positioned openings drawing daylight deep into the floorplan and enhancing the quality of the living spaces throughout the day.
