Project Details
This South Melbourne floral studio was designed and constructed to support the operational requirements of a boutique floral business while creating a welcoming retail environment for customers and visitors.
The fit-out balances functionality with presentation, providing dedicated work areas for floral preparation alongside a retail setting that allows floral arrangements and plant displays to become an integral part of the overall space. The layout was carefully planned to support daily workflows while maintaining a strong visual connection between the studio's working and customer-facing environments.
Material selections were intentionally restrained, allowing the colours, textures and seasonal variation of the floral displays to become the defining feature of the interior. Timber joinery, polished concrete surfaces and durable workstations provide a practical foundation for the day-to-day operation of the studio while contributing to a warm and contemporary atmosphere.
Storage, preparation areas and service facilities are integrated throughout the fit-out to maximise efficiency without compromising the presentation of the space. Natural light and layered planting further enhance the interior environment, creating a setting that feels both functional and inviting.
The result is a considered commercial fit-out that combines practicality, durability and visual simplicity, providing a flexible working studio and retail environment within the heart of South Melbourne.
